Episode Transcript:
Today I'm going to take you through.
A set of questions that you can use as a meditation exercise or a mindfulness exercise. And this is something that you can practice when you are in quiet time so that you can incorporate this into your life when you feel anxiety or stressed or when you find yourself not being present. So these questions we'll go through together. I'll repeat them several times just so you can get comfortable with them and connect with them. And from there, you can just begin to take them into your life and ask yourself these questions at any point.
That you need to.
Okay?
So go ahead and get comfortable.
And for this one, let's get quiet. Get still, and bring yourself into a place that feels a bit more like a meditative, intentional time of quiet. Lengthen your spine and feel your posture.
Grow tall, as if there is a string on the top of your head.
Pulling you up to the ceiling, lengthening.
Taller and taller through your bones.
As.
Your shoulders relax and your muscles come to rest throughout your body. Place your hands in a comfortable position, maybe palms facing up, or hands on your heart, and begin to notice every sensation in your body and begin to notice the sounds you hear in the space.
Notice the sensation of breath moving in.
And out of your body.
And bring.
All of your attention into this moment right now. I'm going to take you through questions and I'll feed you the answer. And I just want you to stick with it. We'll go through them and repeat them at a slow pace. Then all I want you to do is keep your attention as much as you're able in this moment. And when your mind wanders off, just bring your attention back to now.
What day is it today?
What time is it?
Now.
Where am I?
Here.
What matters this. What day is it.
Today?
What time is it?
Now?
Where am I?
Here.
What matters.
This?
Well, go through these one more time, even slower as we go through them, bring all of your attention to these words and the sensation of being in the present. What day is it.
Today?
What time is it?
Now?
Where am I?
Here.
What matters?
This.
You can stay in this quiet place, focusing on today.
Now.
Here.
This.
And when you're ready, very gently begin to blink your eyes open.
And move.
Into the day, focusing your attention on today.
Here.
Now this.
